Job Title: Liferay Developer

Location: Remote (Only local candidates from VA, MD, DC)

Duration: Contract to hire

Client: Federal Employee Program Operations Center (FEPOC)

JD:

· Design, develop and support applications built on the Liferay DXP Platform in an agile framework.

· Work with product management team to develop overall scope and work plan for implementing requirements.

· Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing effective and efficient solutions that meet business requirements.

· Drive continuous improvements, make recommendations and advise on organization-wide system improvements, optimization or maintenance efforts in software, software development methodologies, lifecycle management, modeling, and simulation.

· Collaborate with analysts in documenting and capturing software requirements in the form of epics, features, user stories, process models and use cases in an agile development environment.

· Work with programmers at all levels of technical ability by assisting them in the customization and development of a communications portal based on Liferay DXP.

· Review existing documentation to understand system functionality and use that information to implement functionality in the modernized grant case management system.

· Provide guidance and training for the development, maintenance, and updating of Web pages to junior members of the team.

Experience Required

· Responsible for managing the Liferay DXP environments for development, validation and production

· Experienced in installing and patching Liferay DXP instances including clusters

· Managing Liferay DXP in Cloud (AWS preferred) instances

· Installing and patching Elastic Search

· Patching of Liferay, OpenJDK and associated third party utilities on Windows and Linux

· Establishing process for data refresh from production to lower environment on regular basis

· Assisting Developers in setting up "local " environment

· Experienced as a Developer in a Scrum Framework actively participating in Scrum Ceremonies and Backlog Refinement.

Desirable:

· Knowledgeable about Elastic Search engines, assist in improving Search results for Liferay DXP.

· 3yr Liferay Development experience, HTML/CSS/JS (themes),

· 3yr Angular and/or React front ends
